Meet the Coaches Notes

Tiger Sharks Families,

Thank you to those who were able to attend our Meet the Coaches night! For those who couldn’t make it, here’s a quick recap of what was covered. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

1. Remind App

  • What it’s for: Last-minute reminders, updates, or weather-related changes.
  • Action: Sign up for your swimmer’s age group and the whole team.

2. Swimtopia App

  • What it’s for: Track your swimmer’s events and lineup for each meet.
  • Options:
    • Free Version: View event lineups.
    • Paid Version: See swimmer results.

3. Tiger Sharks Swim Outlet

  • Why it’s important: Ordering through the team link helps fundraise for the team.
  • What to get: No official team suit required. You’ll need goggles and caps for meets and practice. A team cap will be given to all swimmers before the first meet.

4. Mandatory Meet Support

  • Requirements:
    • 4 hours of meet support per family.
    • 2 additional hours during semis and finals.
  • Note: Sign-ups open Tuesday, May 27 at 8:00pm.
  • Penalty: A $100 charge will be billed if requirements are not met. We need your hours, not your money!
  • Concessions: Donations are required for our 2 home meets.

5. Practice Schedule

  • Start Date: Monday, June 2.
  • Schedule:
    • 10 and unders: 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM
    • 11 and overs: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

6. Pre-Season Clinics

  • Dates: May 27, 28, 29
  • Time: 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM (Choose one 30-minute session)
  • Purpose: Refresh skills and allow coaches to begin evaluating swimmers.

7. First Meet

  • Date: June 5th at Fair Valley. This is our only meet there this season.
  • Arrival: Be there by 4:45 PM for check-in with coaches.

8. Team Pictures and Breakfast

  • Date: Friday, June 6th
  • Time: 9:15 AM for all swimmers.

9. Meet Participation for Semi-Finals/Finals

  • Requirement: Swimmers must participate in at least 2 meets to qualify.

10. Officials Training

  • Session 1:
    • Date: Thursday, May 22, 6:00 PM
    • Location: Community Room, Dayton Metro Library, Kettering Branch, 3496 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45429
  • Session 2:
    • Date: Monday, June 2, 6:00 PM
    • Location: Diabetes Dayton, 2555 S. Dixie Drive, Suite 110, Dayton, OH 45409
